A Meta¡©Analysis on the Effects of the Collage Group Art Therapy

Abstract
The aim of this study is to research the current trends of studies regarding collage group art therapy in Korea and to make solid conclusion using meta¡©analysis whether the effect of studies are reliable and valid. We collected total 55 research articles including diploma theses and published papers in Korean journal from 2001 to 2017 and conducted meta¡©analysis after selecting 36 articles which are correlated to the research purpose. In summary of this study, the major portion of research subjects of collage group art therapy research are adults, majority of the experimental group was composed of 5 to 10 persons, and mainly the study on¡©and recovery of psychological health. The occupied collage ratio of 91 to 100 percents and magazine collage were the most preferred, and the integrated research, experimental and control groups were most applied. The research design of less than 10 times, two sessions per week, less than 90 to 120 minutes per session was highly preferred. However, the effect size showed different patterns and it showed that program which have 1 to 2 session per week, less than 60 minutes per session with a total of 16 sessions or more applied to experimental group composed of 3 to 4 children or college students who aimed to develop¡©were able to expect the greatest effect.
